1. Bold Colours/Ecstatic Colours: Colour vibrancy to the maximum

Bold, bright and ecstatic colours are surely going to help you stand out on the super-crowded supermarket shelves, particularly in the beverage industry. Use of such vibrant colours are often simple to recall and ensure brand loyalty. Bold and ecstatic colours are ideal to grab customers’ attention in only a few seconds and persuade them to buy the product right away in today’s fast-paced world. 2. Tactile Texture: A sense of touch equally important

The next year, 2023 could be a year of tactile textures design. As a product owner, you might not realize the importance of touch when it comes to your product packaging. However, consumers admire how certain materials feel in their hands. This packaging design trend can influence buying decisions just as much as how it looks. Of late, there is a rise in methods and techniques that add texture to packaging such as

  • Embossing and debossing – where the packaging is raised or depressed
  • Die-cuts – creating artistic holes in the packaging, and
  • Foil printing – using reflective metal on packaging

3. Minimalistic Design: Less is More

Minimalism is the most misunderstood design concept in packaging. It simply draws attention to the key features that set your products apart and make them the best option available. It consists of a minimal layout consisting of only the necessary details. The colour scheme is also generally neutral, so consumers can focus on the product rather than the packaging.

4.  Back of Packaging (BoP): Say yes to ‘looking back’

Your product’s back packaging contains more information than just a list of ingredients and nutrients. It may also be a powerful marketing tool for promoting your business and increasing interest in it.

The back of the box is the ideal place to emphasize your brand history, how it got started, what inspired you to create your brand, or your brand USPs to acquire customer interest. On the rear of the box, you may highlight the advantages and sources of the product. The back of the container is an excellent place to explain that your company receives its components from verified and legitimate farms or other sources.

5. Interactivity/Community Building: Getting closer to the consumer

Interactive packaging, such as QR codes, augmented reality, etc., is the future of designs for brands. Brands can put the QR code on the back of the packaging, letting the consumer enter their world, whether it be how to use the product effectively, see similar products from the brand, buy products online, or see recent product launches and upcoming products and even discount coupons from the brand. These measures, in turn, lead to more sales and brand awareness. Many companies love this move because it creates a direct pipeline to the consumer. If someone signs up or follows, that’s invaluable market data and a place to communicate at length.

6. Illustrated Ingredients in Punchy Palettes:  Comprehensiveness for the win

Decorating packaging with ingredients that are illustrated in a bright and colourful manner is one of our favourite packaging trends for 2023. It not only attracts consumers who are interested in the product’s ingredients but also helps them select which flavour or variety a certain product is. The illustrated ingredients rely on fresh, bold, juicy pops of colours and less refined art styles, such as doodles, to make the product on the packaging more appealing and fun.

7. Over the Top Customizations: Staying ahead of the crowd

With the passage of time, businesses are making every effort to differentiate their product packaging from that of their competitors. More and more over the top customizations are being made so that bottles can have a distinctive shape and include branding into the real glass. With a custom bottle, you have the chance to design a container that will emphasize your product, draw attention to its distinguishing features, and take into consideration production requirements to guarantee that bottling will go smoothly.

8. Product Visuals in a Creative Style: Putting Outside what’s Inside

The concept behind this cutting-edge trend is that instead of just putting the product on the container, the images on it hint at what’s on the inside, as in the possible ingredients used to make the product, etc. The end result is a new wave of innovative and distinctive product designs.

9. Wrap-around Patterns: Design fluidity matters

With brands looking for ways to make their packaging stand out, they’re discovering the advantages of wrap around patterns. What makes such patterns draw attention is the consistency with patterns and the fluidity of the design. Multiple wide lines that are attractive to the eye and seamless are used in patterns to attract interest and motivate customers to buy the product.
